Kathmandu, Nepal – 12th August, 2025 – Dongfeng Motor Group, one of China’s leading automotive manufacturers, has announced a major investment in its electric vehicle brand, VOYAH Automobile, reaffirming its commitment to the development of clean and intelligent mobility solutions.

Under a capital increase agreement, Dongfeng’s subsidiary, Dongfeng Asset Management (DFAM), will invest US $137 million into VOYAH. This strategic funding will accelerate the brand’s vehicle development, enhance technological innovation, and strengthen its performance in the competitive electric vehicle market.

As part of the capital increase agreement, the ownership structure of VOYAH Automobile will change. Following the capital increase, Dongfeng Motor Group will own 79.69% of VOYAH. DFAM will own 3.30% and the remaining 17.01% will be controlled by other shareholders. Under this structure, Dongfeng will maintain control over VOYAH while involving trusted partners in its development.

VOYAH is a premium electric vehicle brand under Dongfeng Motor Group. Joining the market with modern, smart and eco-friendly vehicles, VOYAH aims to provide vehicles for today’s drivers. With the increased focus on electric vehicles globally, VOYAH will continue to be an important element of Dongfeng’s future.

The new investment will assist VOYAH in solidifying its spot in the market. The new capital can be used to allocate money towards research and development, ramping up production, and improving the quality of their vehicles. It could also help the company enter international markets and compete with other high-priority electric vehicle companies.

For Dongfeng, the benefit of having this additional capital is a gain beyond revenue or shares, there is a clear direction for the ways in which Dongfeng wants to go, the dominant shareholder. Dongfeng wants to take action in leading the transformation towards future green mobility and intelligent transportation for the general public. The investment support in VOYAH symbolizes recent investments toward innovation and sustainability.

Over the past several years, the global automobile industry has changed rapidly and at an unprecedented rate. Electric vehicles have continued to increase in popularity as buyers are looking for environmentally-friendly options while following government policy requirements. Large organizations such as Dongfeng are shifting their strategies to meet the needs of the future. The most recent capital increase will definitely help Dongfeng to build upon its automotive businesses for the future.

The investment is an indication of Dongfeng’s confidence in VOYAH and hope that the brand can become prominent in the future of electric transportation. Concurrently with VOYAH’s development and financial support, the customer should look forward to a smarter, more reliable, and greener vehicle in the near future.
