Pakistan’s Inam Butt Saturday won the Beach Wrestling World series when he vanquished Ukraine’sOleksii Yakovchuk 3-0 in the final, keeping in supremacy in the 90kg category final.

Inam was facing the same opponent he had beaten in his first round encounter on Friday. Speaking to The News via WhatsApp, Butt thanked God for the victory.

“Thanks God, I won five fights on the trot and won the world title,” he said.
Earlier in the day, Inam had defeated Omer Faruk Karadeniz of Turkey 2-1 in the quarter-final. He then prevailed over the Romanian grappler Mihai Nicolae Palaghia in the semi-final 3-0 to set the final clash with Oleksii.
