Kathmandu, July 9: G.O. Automobiles Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of MG vehicles in Nepal, has introduced a new financing scheme for the MG Comet EV, enabling customers to own the electric hatchback at a daily EMI of Rs. 520.
According to the company, the daily installment amounts to Rs. 15,535 per month, making the MG Comet EV more affordable for city commuters and first-time electric vehicle buyers. The company said the monthly payment is lower than the cost of using a taxi every day or hiring a personal driver.
Managing Director Akash Golchha said the offer is aimed at making electric mobility more accessible by reducing the financial burden of owning an EV. “Owning an EV should not feel like a big financial leap. It should feel like a natural next step,” he said, adding that the MG Comet EV is designed to suit Nepal’s narrow roads while helping customers save on fuel without compromising on comfort or style.
The MG Comet EV is available at an introductory price starting from Rs. 18.75 lakh. Built on MG’s dedicated electric platform, the four-seater hatchback is powered by a 17.3 kWh battery paired with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). It offers an ARAI-certified driving range of up to 230 kilometres on a single charge.
The company said the vehicle is designed for urban mobility, offering a compact size, comfortable cabin and low operating costs, making it suitable for daily commuting and city driving.
G.O. Automobiles, a part of the Golchha Organization, said the new daily EMI scheme is part of its efforts to encourage wider adoption of electric vehicles in Nepal by making ownership more affordable and accessible.
