Kathmandu – Jagadamba Motors, the Shankar Group-backed authorized distributor of two-wheelers and four-wheelers, is gearing up to introduce Malaysian-made Proton e.Mas7 Electric Vehicle in the Nepali market. The e.Mas 7 that first entered the roads in Malaysia in December 2024 will soon arrive in Nepal under Proton’s strategic plan for the global expansion of markets. Other launches are also planned for Trinidad and Tobago, Singapore, and Mauritius.

The Proton e.Mas 7 is available in two trims: Prime and Premium. It already made a good mark with the excellent rating of 5-star safety ratings from ASEAN NCAP. It garnered a total of 92.57 points: 39 for adult occupant protection, 17.32 for child occupant protection, 20 for safety assistance, and 16.25 for motorcyclist protection. The high score in safety increases the credentials for Proton’s concern with the safety of its passengers and the people on the road.

While a demonstration version is expected to arrive in Kathmandu in January, the official launch is expected by the third week of March 2025. Though the company is yet to make an official announcement, according to industry insiders, e.Mas 7 will be a major arrival in Nepal’s growing EV market. with growing demands for electric vehicles in the region, the e.Mas 7 is supposed to offer some advanced features with state-of-the-art technology to meet the evolving requirements of Nepali consumers.

The Proton e.Mas 7 is arriving at a time when the electric vehicle market is warming up in Nepal, and this new model is expected to give further impetus to the country’s shift toward cleaner and more sustainable modes of transportation.
