Electric Vehicles Crucial for Nepal’s Economy: Kulman Ghising

Kathmandu: Kulman Ghising, the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), emphasized the significant role of electric vehicles (EVs) in Nepal’s economy. Speaking at the inauguration of AB Motors’ new showroom in Omda on Saturday, Ghising highlighted the benefits of EVs across various sectors.
Ghising expressed his happiness over the growing promotion of electric vehicles, stating, “Electric vehicles will play a vital role in Nepal’s economy. Using EVs is not only beneficial for individuals but also for the overall economy.” He pointed out that EVs can help reduce dependency on fuel imports, especially amid rising petrol and diesel prices and supply issues.
“We need to transform our lifestyle towards an electric-based system,” Ghising stressed. He also highlighted the long-term advantages of EVs, such as reducing environmental pollution and achieving energy self-reliance.
The event featured an exhibition of various electric vehicles, showcasing their potential to contribute to Nepal’s sustainable development.
