Kathmandu, June 17, 2026 — The Embassy of Pakistan in Nepal honored more than 200 outstanding Nepali students during the 14th Annual Ambassador of Pakistan Scholarship Ceremony held at Aloft Hotel in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
The event brought together students, parents, teachers, and representatives from Nepal’s education and media sectors. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal, H.E. Abrar H. Hashmi, attended the ceremony as the chief guest and presented scholarships to Higher Secondary School students selected from across Nepal on the basis of academic merit and financial need.
A special recognition was also awarded to Ms. Prapti Lamsal of Tribhuvan University’s Institute of Forestry, Pokhara Campus. Marking the 150th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, the embassy presented her with a laptop as the top performer among this year’s scholarship recipients.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Hashmi described the scholarship program as an investment in Nepal’s future and encouraged students to develop skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), health sciences, biosciences, innovation, diplomacy, financial literacy, and critical thinking.
He highlighted Pakistan’s continued support for Nepal’s education sector through scholarships at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, as well as institutional assistance to schools in areas such as information technology, sports, liberal arts, and STEM education.
Launched in 2013, the Ambassador of Pakistan Scholarship Program has supported thousands of Nepali students and is regarded as one of the most prominent foreign scholarship initiatives operating in Nepal.
The Embassy of Pakistan said it remains committed to strengthening educational cooperation and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Nepal through continued academic support and collaboration.
