AmCham Nepal and Cross River Bank Convene Landmark Leadership Dialogue to Advance the U.S.–Nepal Commercial Corridor

Kathmandu | June 26, 2026-The American Chamber of Commerce in Nepal (AmCham Nepal), in partnership with Cross River Bank, successfully convened an exclusive high-level Leadership Dialogue titled “Nepal, Global Capital and the Future of Financial Innovation.”
The event brought together Nepal’s leading figures from banking, finance, investment, fintech, insurance, private equity, and the broader business community for a strategic exchange focused on strengthening the U.S.–Nepal commercial corridor.
The dialogue highlighted Nepal’s growing potential as an emerging investment destination and reflected a shared commitment to expanding economic cooperation between the United States and Nepal through innovation, private-sector leadership, and long-term partnerships.
Delivering the opening remarks, AmCham Nepal Vice Chair Akash Golchha reaffirmed the Chamber’s mission to position Nepal as a country of opportunity by supporting existing U.S. investors while creating pathways for new American investment. He emphasized that AmCham Nepal remains committed to improving Nepal’s investment climate through sustained advocacy, constructive policy dialogue, and stronger commercial ties between the two nations.
Representing Cross River Bank, Executive Vice President Pravesh Rijal described the visit as the beginning of a long-term engagement with Nepal. Meanwhile, Henry Pennel praised Nepal’s financial leadership and its vision for international collaboration.
Also speaking at the event, Katherine Leahy underscored the importance of expanding U.S.–Nepal commercial engagement and fostering deeper economic partnerships.
The dialogue was moderated by AmCham Nepal Executive Director Amir Thapa, who highlighted the Chamber’s broader commercial diplomacy initiatives, including participation in SelectUSA, engagement with the Nepali diaspora, and efforts surrounding the Diaspora Investment Portal.
The event concluded with AmCham Nepal reaffirming its commitment to transforming dialogue into partnerships, partnerships into investment, and investment into shared prosperity for Nepal and the United States.
