Kathmandu, June 17, 2026 — The Embassy of Pakistan in Nepal honored more than 200 outstanding Nepali students during the 14th Annual Ambassador of Pakistan Scholarship Ceremony held at Aloft Hotel, Kathmandu.
The event was attended by students, teachers, parents, and representatives from Nepal’s education and media sectors. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal, H.E. Abrar H. Hashmi, presided over the ceremony and personally distributed scholarships to Higher Secondary School students selected from across Nepal on the basis of academic merit and financial need.
Marking the 150th birth anniversary of Pakistan’s founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the embassy also presented a laptop to Ms. Prapti Lamsal of the Institute of Forestry, Pokhara Campus under Tribhuvan University. She was recognized as the top performer among this year’s scholarship recipients.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Hashmi described the scholarship program as “a celebration of Nepal’s future” and encouraged students to develop expertise in science, technology, health sciences, innovation, diplomacy, financial literacy, and critical thinking.
He highlighted Pakistan’s continued support for Nepal’s education sector through scholarships at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, as well as institutional assistance to schools in areas such as information technology, sports, liberal arts, and STEM education.
Launched in 2013, the Ambassador of Pakistan Scholarship Program has become one of the most prominent foreign-funded scholarship initiatives in Nepal, supporting thousands of students in their pursuit of academic excellence over the years.
