LCOY NEPAL 2023: From Vision to Action; Youth Powering Climate Action a 2 days event is happening on September 15^th – 16^th, 2023. This historic event marks the first time that a Local Conference of Youth (LCOY), organized by YOUNGO, the official youth constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), is happening in Nepal.

We (LCOY NEPAL) aim to bring together the vision and ideas of young and enthusiastic Nepalese youth from grassroots level where we can pave ways to flourish them into actions through joint effort. And, finally layout objectives to be taken to COP28 through the active involvement of Nepalese youths from diverse fields.

 

Our two-day event will serve as a platform for in-depth discussions on climate change, its impacts, underlying causes, and the various initiatives undertaken by humanity in response. We have prioritized our focus on key themes including Climate Justice and Equity, Youth Empowerment, Community Engagement, Climate Finance, and Governance. The event will feature group presentations and panel discussions on these critical topics, offering attendees a comprehensive understanding of climate-related issues and solutions. To recognize the commitment of our participants, we will be providing certificates to all    the attendees.

LCOY NEPAL 2023 is proud to collaborate with an esteemed lead organizer, POWERSHIFT NEPAL, and co-organizers Sustainability Week Kathmandu, Thought for Food, Harin Nepal, International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA), Female Foresters Nepal (FFN), Youth Action For Sustainable And Eco Nepal (YASEN), Climates Nepal, Pravaha Collective, and Eco-Network. Their invaluable support has made this event possible and will undoubtedly contribute to its success.
