Deepal S05 has secured the No. 1 position in the Pure Electric SUV segment of the J.D. Power 2026 China Quality Study. The S05 achieved this ranking in the J.D. Power NEV Initial Quality Study, which is widely regarded as the most authoritative benchmark for evaluating the quality of EVs available in China’s rapidly expanding market.
Launched around a year ago and already sold close to 200,000 units across more than 70 countries, the Deepal S05 is one of China’s most successful exported EVs. This achievement is expected to further strengthen trust in the Deepal brand, especially as the S05 is already enjoying impressive success in the Nepali market.
Measuring 4.62 meters in length with a 2.88-meter wheelbase, the S05 is available in both Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) versions. In Nepal, this SUV is offered with a 99 kW motor and a 56.1 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, delivering a 405 km WLTP range.
J.D. Power’s NEV IQS is considered one of the most trusted quality studies in the Chinese automotive industry. The 2026 study was based on feedback collected from 21,177 vehicle owners across 81 cities in China, covering 137 models from 49 brands. The study gathered responses from customers who had owned their vehicles for two to six months.
At a time when the Chinese market is facing growing quality challenges due to factors such as increasing software and ADAS complexity, Deepal S05’s top ranking reflects its strong engineering and product quality.
This achievement positions the Deepal S05 as a leading choice for Nepali customers seeking a stylish, technology-driven, and reliable EV. As Deepal continues to strengthen its presence in Nepal, this recognition is expected to further enhance the brand’s growing reputation and support the continued success of the S05 among modern EV buyers.
