Kathmandu, June 5, 2026 – South Asia’s leading e-commerce platform, Daraz Group, has announced that Aanchal Kunwar will step down as Managing Director of Daraz Nepal and continue to support the company as an advisor. Ben Yi will assume the role of Acting Managing Director to lead Daraz Nepal’s next phase of growth. Ratish Luitel will be appointed as Chief Commercial Officer, overseeing commercial operations of the company. The transition will take effect on July 1, 2026.

Aanchal has served Daraz for more than four and a half years, leading the company through substantial growth and transformation. Under her leadership, Daraz Nepal more than doubled its business size, grew its customer base to over three million, expanded its seller ecosystem to over 24,000, of which 85% are SMEs, and extended its reach to more than 140 locations nationwide. Beyond these achievements, Aanchal has been a catalyst for entrepreneurship and digital commerce in Nepal, empowering small businesses and making e-commerce integral to daily life for millions. She built a high-performing leadership team grounded in ownership, accountability, and customer-centricity, leaving Daraz Nepal well-positioned for continued progress.

Aanchal will continue to support Daraz in an advisory capacity until December 31, 2026 to ensure a smooth handover and ongoing success for Daraz Nepal’s stakeholders.

As part of the transition, Ben Yi, Chief Commercial Officer of Daraz Group and current Managing Director of Daraz Bangladesh, will take on the role of Acting Managing Director for Daraz Nepal. Ben brings extensive leadership experience across Alibaba Group ecosystem since he joined in 2015, with a strong track record in driving marketplace growth, cross-border commerce, business development, and platform operations.

Ratish Luitel, a seven-year veteran of Daraz Nepal with over 15 years of experience in finance and operations, will take on the role of Chief Commercial Officer for Daraz Nepal, bringing deep market expertise and institutional knowledge to the role. He currently serves as Finance Lead for Daraz Nepal and Sri Lanka.
