KATHMANDU, Nepal – 22 July 2026

Five students from the British Model College (BMC) have been recognised with the Bronze Award at The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (DoEIA) National Ceremony, held at the Alice Reception in Gairidhara, Kathmandu.

The recipients, Aarya Gurung, Marisha Devi Gurung, Seana Kerung, Neir Amatya and Shashank Jha, were honoured alongside awardees from across Nepal in recognition of their commitment to personal development, community service and outdoor adventure.

The Bronze Award requires participants to complete several months of sustained effort across four key sections: developing a practical skill, undertaking regular physical recreation, volunteering within their community, and completing an adventurous expedition.

Congratulating the students on their achievement, Rajan Kumar Rai, Head of School at British Education Group, said:

“Your hard work, dedication and commitment have made us proud. Your achievement is an inspiration to other students, and we wish you continued success in all your future endeavours.”

The college also acknowledged Mr Rai’s guidance and mentorship throughout the programme, recognising his support in helping the students successfully reach this milestone.

British Model College places strong emphasis on holistic student development alongside academic achievement. Participation in initiatives such as The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award provides students with opportunities to develop leadership, resilience, teamwork and a strong sense of social responsibility through practical, real-world experiences.
