Kathmandu, Nepal –NMB Bank has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Information Technology (DoIT), Government of Nepal, to enable Secure, Consent-Based Data Exchange through the government’s Nagarik App platform. This has paved way for a much simpler and quicker digital banking experience.
Through this new partnership, NMB Bank customers will soon be able to securely autofill their verified personal details directly into online banking application forms using the Nagarik App. This means no more repetitive manual typing, less paperwork, and dramatically faster processing times for everyday banking services.
Safety and privacy are at the core of this integration. The system operates on a strict, consent-based model – customer data is never accessed or shared unless the user explicitly authorizes it within the Nagarik App at the exact moment of use, and the information is strictly used only for the requested service.
This collaboration marks a significant leap forward in NMB Bank’s digital journey, leveraging Nepal’s growing Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) to make banking safer, more accessible, and completely hassle-free for citizens across the country.
