Kathmandu, Nepal -The Embassy of Israel in Nepal facilitated the humanitarian initiative led by four Israeli optometrists, who volunteered to provide vision care for hundreds of locals including children and elderly people of the remote villages around Ghatichhina, Pokhara-23, and later coordinated the delivery of prescription eye glasses from Israel to the beneficiaries.
Following their visit to Pokhara two months ago, the Israeli optometrists, namely M. Yosifovich, Y. Segal, N. Weiss and D. Golduser, returned to Israel, prepared the prescription eyeglasses, and sent them to Nepal. The Eyeglasses Handover Program took place on 5 February in Ghatichhina, Pokhara.
Ms. Janan Bebar, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Israel, visited Ghatichhina and formally handed over the eyeglasses to the beneficiaries during a community program. She also met and interacted with local residents and Nepali partners involved in this initiative.
The initiative reflects the strong people-to-people ties between Israel and Nepal and emphasized Israel’s commitment to supporting community well-being through cooperation and professional expertise, all over Nepal.
